I appreciate your thoughts on the situation - hear what you're saying too. When you look back at the process of what transpired, to land Saban, to land Miles...it's anxiety city for sure! That's why i see this time as a breather...a lull before the storm. Enjoy and take care

Question. Did he do better at USC as HC than Kiffan?

Winning 6 games or however many he wins at LSU rest of year doesn't justify giving him the HC job when we know he sucks at being a HC.

I sucked at the job of being husband earlier in life, but the wife says I'm "damn strong" now.

Not saying coach Orgeron will fail or succeed, no one knows. We're about too see how much "damn stronger" he is as a coach this year, if any. So just chill, and pay attention to this season.

Keep O

Hire briles as OC and put him on 24 hr surveillance and in women's community service program.

LSU would kick Saban's arse with that offense + LSU defense

LSU offensive looking solid against Missouri, this LSU team looks so much better offensively.

LSU could kick bama's arse with that offense, most yards ever against an SEC team, Missouri.

How many teams have been inquiring about coach O for HC? This would be a disaster.

This is the big question.

Look, I like O, but he failed miserably at his last permanent HC job. Sure, the held things together well at USC but that's far different than actually running a program.

If O is such a great HC candidate for an elite football school like LSU, why haven't any other schools been after him the past few years?

Serious question.

Come on, now. O did very well as an interim, but that's far, far different than actually being the man in charge of the program for years.

i simply don't understand the obsession for making O permanent. Hell, a few weeks ago, this board was promoting Aranda as HC-in-waiting, even before he coached one down for us and having zero HC experience.

The P&G blinders on this board is so frustrating.

I tend to agree for the interim. If Miles would have only brought in an offensive mind and stayed out of the offense, he would still be here and we would be 5-0. All Miles needed to do was oversee everything. There is no reason why Ogeron if he keeps winning cannot do the same.

It is worth considering if Texas fires Strong and hires Herman. After last year's fubar, I'm not sold on us getting Fisher.

Not LSU's best hire, it could work, if he were to hire kiffin, or someone like him.
This would be a disaster. O was Kiffin's D-line coach. Ontop of that, Kiffin has a big ego. He Wouldn't show Coach O the respect that a Headcoach deserves. CEO would just have to grab him a good up and coming OC. Kiffin looks good at Bama, because he is controlled by the general they have there.

Yep it's definitely a possibility if the big hires aren't available. I would also be ok with one of the younger guys doing good things at smaller schools.

With current coaching situations being developed at big named schools like UT, USCw, ...I would not wait until the end of the season to hire a coach, especially a home run coach like Herman or Fisher. What happened if O bombed out as a hc down the stretch? I would act now.

Pete Carroll's 9-year records at USCw was pretty good. He never had a losing season in the conference and his worst year at USC was the first year there in 2001. He won 11-12 games most of his years at USC.

Too much is up in the air as far as possible coaching vacancies and their replacements at several major colleges including at LSU. No one's in a rush.

Not siding one way or the other in LSU's coaching replacement, I'm letting LSU's football season play out. But if coach Orgeron can find the right offense to light it up, how is the sky not the limit for this LSU team and LSU's future? Top recruiting, top defense, top offense, and a Louisiana cajun leading the way, what's not to like?

my thoughts exactly!

but, but, but you do realize he's not a spread offense guy. I mean, the pure spread that so many young people clamor for these days. yardage is more important than winning type guys.

It's only been one game. I'd like to see how he does with some adversity. I want to see if he can make the proper halftime adjustments. I'm not sure if he's a national championship caliber HC yet.
