With Spurrier...

I'd assume there would be a lot less to second guess strategy-wise on gamedays.
The knocks on Spurrier have to do with his age and desire to recruit. But the fact remains, that on Saturdays, they are few better.
ETA: Who else would make you as excited about next season?

i think as long as he locks the state of la down which won't be hard, I think spurrier will do a fine job in recruiting and we will obviously be able to deepen our recruiting efforts in florida. texas I might be a little worried

maybe KW would get some more carries?

I still don't understand the desire for a coach who's made his legacy elsewhere.

Spurrier has had excellent DCs in the past (Bob Stoops, anyone?), so a younger DC who joins HBC in Baton Rouge for the next 5-7 years can just sli-i-de on into that spot once Spurrier hangs 'em up.

Also, LSU dodged a bullet w/ A&M hiring Sherman.
Little chance, I'd think, that Sherman is a better recruiter than Fran...good news for LSU and it's SE Texas recruiting.

Am I the only one here a little leery of hiring Spurrier?

No

I live over here in Spurrier land and its common knowledge that he became very ill with the university over the recruiting debacle where he had a couple recruits that met NCAA academic criteria but the University shot them down anyways and that was after Spurrier had promised those guys a scholarship. He had egg on his face and you know Spurrier don't like that. So he could very possibly be a valid candidate for the LSU job, that is of course if he can get past the F you Spurrier chant he heard at the game this year.
