According to Wisconsin's 247 site.

This was his first year as DC, and Wisconsin had a top 5 defense. 2nd year overall as a coach. He currently makes about $600k a year. He is a Badger alum, so it would take a big number to pull him away.

You think? I think he'd probably leave for 800k, unless Wisconsin matches.

ETA: 200k is a lot when you're only making 600k.

He may be an alum, but he is a DC, not a HC. It probably would not take as big a number as you think.

Here's what's happening: they pushed for Aranda 3 times and failed, so they're going to his replacement at Wisconsin. "Can you talk to Dave for us?"

Ah. The Wisconsin born former walk-on who already made over $9 million in his previous career? Yeah he seems pretty likely to leave his Alma mater who gave him his first crack at coaching.

He's already made a lot of money. Wisconsin will give him a raise. I don't see him pursuing other gigs unless he wants a head job which isn't likely to happen soon.

I was told by the rantards yesterday he would never leave Wisconsin. I suggested him if Aranda left. Now people believe he will leave.

It's not about the money for Jim. He hates it there and wants out. Amirite?

I have no doubt he is very loyal to Wisconsin. But I have a hard time seeing an assistant try to strong arm Barry Alvarez to a salary over $1 million.

Already? They still haven't extended a formal offer to Corey Raymond, Dennis Johnson, Pete Jenkins, Tommy Moffit, Dr. Sam Nader, or Sharon Lewis yet.

Would be a solid hire.

Also helps LSU to get a good look to see how he performs in the SEC to determine if we want to take him from y'all down the road after Aranda goes to the NFL.

I think this is another uphill battle for the Aggies. He's a Wisconsin native and alumnus and they are also projected to be a top playoff contender next season. If WIsky makes the playoffs and he has a good showing on defense, he'll most likely be a popular head coaching candidate somewhere.

At this rate the Aggies won't have a coordinator before 2nd signing day.
