Multiple rumors that Houston is going to pursue Traylor and Fritz. Fritz reportedly would take that job.
Would be horrible for Tulane. Hopefully they make a smart hire to keep things rolling.

Jimbo wouldn't even have to move

What a mediocre job to move to. The city of Houston couldn’t give two shits about that program.
Tulane’s administration pretty much assured Fritz would leave soon when they didn’t give his recommendation for AD the time of day and hired someone else. I just figured he would get a better gig than this out of it.

Would be a strange move. It’s going to take 4-5 years for UH to catch up to power 5 football.

Tulane better back up the Brinks truck for Fritz.

Apparently his family lives in Houston now and really wants the job there because of that

I’m pretty sure their AD hire was a middle finger to let him know he’s not getting anything more from them, which is fricking insane. They haven’t been relevant in 70+ years.

It’s not a middle finger. Players and coaches always try to get their people hired so they can run over them. It’s up to the powers that be to make the right hire regardless of what they want.
This happens all the time.

Willie Fritz will crush it at U of H. It’s a program that you can turn around quickly and I would see them as a dangerous team to face in year 2.

If the reports are correct, he was about to bolt last year for GT. It's not like he has demonstrated that he wants to retire there.

Yea regrettably the Georgia tech move was the writing on the wall.
Would love for Tulane to figure out how to get Fritz for another 5 years and basically make him a lifer, but I assume he wants to move on.
And he has to know his stock will never be higher than right now. He has hit the Tulane ceiling, isn’t getting any younger, losses his QB and the AAC is vanishing further into irrelevance.

So Tulane wants an AD that stands up to the best football coach they've ever had.

This would be the 3rd or 4th time fritz was 'about to take another job' since he has been here. I don't think the A.D. situation is as important as others think.
Unless Fritz is ready for another challenge this will lead to another pay raise and maybe some more money for his staff.

Isnt his daughter a Houston sports reporter?

No. They want an AD that will do their job.

Tulane Rich Boys and their "fans" need to step it up. Tulane finally gets a head coach that developed a team with some national respect and once again, they are going to let him walk away?

The reports are correct, and Fritz has basically had one foot out the door ever since he’s been at Tulane.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but didn’t make much sense to let him pick the new AD when he’s likely gone in the coming weeks
