Alleva caved on the Johnny Jones hire and didn't get the best coach available. We know where that got us. I hope Alleva swings for the fences and doesn't give in to the popular sentiment. Hope he shows some chest.

I think he will. The man caved under pressure last year, and i haven't seen anything that would make me think that he'd do anything differently this year.

I understand the point you're making w/ Jones, but Alleva knows that the football HC is in a class by itself (relative to all other HC positions).

He better make a good choice. This could be his last stand at LSU.

I just don't see Alleva taking a risk and retaining O. There is to much risk in that decision. If it goes bad Alleva is done. I would think he would go for an option with less risk like Fisher or Herman.

If he does, it may be the opening to finally can his butt.

I also hope this is the case, but no one will know until the deal is done.

Hopefully he's smart enough to know that if Fisher or Herman come to LSU and don't really light it up, he can at least fall back on being guided by their previous record as a HC.

If he keeps CEO and it bombs, he won't have a leg to stand on.

That's just it, it's not the popular sentiment. We're all looking at the poll on the front page and having a mini freak out, including me until i looked at it differently. 48% of fans believe O should/will be the coach next season. That means 52% of the Rant actually have a brain and believe/want someone else to be the coach. It's just a matter of disagreeing who it should be. But what the popular sentiment is, Coach O SHOULD NOT BE THE frickING COACH

No. Skip would go cheap. I wish Emmert were in charge.
