re: Why would Lsu fire the Head Coach if the new hay wasn't in the barn already?

I don't know you but I immediately have more confidence in you having a coach ready to go than I do these guys running the show. I assume you are not on that team.
So, tell me, what makes you think they had someone secured before this all went down? Because that is how you would do it?
I can tell you right now, they don't know who it will be definitively. They have their list but they did not fire BK knowing the next coach was set.

Common sense
Would you quit your job if you didn't have one lined up already?

Have you seen us the past few weeks?

My answer is not getting through to you.
You and I might do things this way.
I do not believe the LSU Admin is competent enough to have a coach already selected and the deal done.
Do you understand that?

That’s not how it works, lol. After you make the decision, you look at who’s available and start evaluating

Depends on the circumstances. It’s not as black and white as you want to make it. I’ve absolutely quit a job without having one lined up. I’m willing to bet I’m not the only one in this thread who has done it.
We were ranked #4 in the country and all but a lock for the playoffs 5 weeks into the season. A month later we were looking for a coach.
Do you think the administration was looking to fire BK during week 5 after the loss to OM? Or earlier? Because if not, you’re saying you expected them to start a search after 1 loss and hire someone (probably someone who was still coaching) in ONE month, in the middle of a season.
That’s a pretty unreasonable expectation imo.

Fresh hay will catch fire and burn the hay barn down, you always let it dry before storing.

Did you see what a complete dumpster fire LSU had become under Brian Kelly?
The fact that so many of y'all keep pushing the ridiculous notion that the program was a dumpster fire b/c of BK thus he had to go immediately is delusional and really hammers how spoiled and out of touch the LSU fan base has become over the years.
You guys have a busted up QB and lost to some really good ranked teams. shite happens. Killing the team just b/c the HC doesn't want to change the OC mid-season was insanely short sighted and has now made the school look like a total clown show.

The great SW got played by BK. IMO, once the meddling started, getting fired was BK's play.

I don't think SW got played. SW just had zero innovation and zero true negotiation skills. If you look at BK's pay raise and contract term, anyone would've accepted that. $10M/10 yrs yea no one is refusing that.
Hence, zero innovation and zero incentive to be a good coach.
