Howdy! As I understood it from my time living & working in College Station is the traditional Aggie greeting. At first, College Station & all its "traditions" can be both impressive & endearing. After a while though, one realizes one is living in a good sized city, out in the middle of nowhere, where everyone says "Howdy!" & "Whoop" all the fricking time. The true devotees of the Aggie religion will try to "Out Aggie" one another to the point of spending thousands upon thousands of dollars. It is a cultish, Twilight Zone type culture that no sane person- or amount of whiskey- can deal with long term.
