His salary is currently $8.9M/season at Stanford.

HOWEVER, when you compare tax rates of Palo Alto, CA vs. Baton Rouge, LA, if you pay Shaw $7.51M/season, he takes home MORE MONEY than he currently does now.

You what to hire the most overpaid, overrated coach in America beside Ferentz?

Too much Les Miles there. Had the program high after Harbaugh and now has tailed off big time.

I never said anything about Jim Harbaugh.

David Shaw would be excellent.

He is a great game manager. He really gets the analytics piece of the business.

He is 93-40 at Stanford. Very difficult to recruit there. I think he is still a great coach.

The academic standards are largely a myth. Schools like Stanford, Northwestern, Notre Dame, etc pretty much get who they want.

Stanford has been mediocre in a down Pac 12 for several years now, plus he's a California guy who has badmouthed the intelligence of Southern players in the past.

There was a screenshot from yesterday's Stanford game on twitter. 3 minutes left, tie game, Stanford ball on about their own 20. Stanford is in i-formation, with zero receivers out wide. That's why not David Shaw.

I thought Shaw would have been a good hire in 2017 to replace Miles.

Stanford was winning 10+ games a year, Shaw had improved on the foundation Harbaugh established, they ran a similar offense to LSU, but more dynamic with better QB play.

Since then they have taken a big step back. Their offense is stuck in another era, QBs have struggled, zero 10 win seasons, a losing season in 2019, and have struggled to stay above .500 the last two seasons.

David Shaw is a pompous a-hole.

He doesn’t recruit the south because he says no one would match Stanford’s academic standard.
When asked before would he be interested in the LSU job his answer was “Why would I want to go there?”
I don’t know David….maybe to win championships.
He’s an elitist prick.

Making insane money for a coach with no ring at his Alma Mater.

Had a 4-8 season not too long ago and has a losing record this year but won’t get fired because Stanford doesn’t care THAT much about football.
