He is only like 57 and could probably coach another 10 years at a high level. They should give him a call. He took Washington to the Playoffs for Christ's sake.

The amount of people against Petersen is mind boggling.

Was he the Boise coach who went out west for special medial facilities for a special needs child?

They aren’t against him but they know he’s not coming to BR despite how many threads are started about him.

That whole thing where he doesn’t want to coach football anymore could be a red flag.

You really want a guy who retired from coaching just 4 years ago because he was burned out? That's the best we can do?

He’s a west coast guy and doesn’t seem interested in going east. Plus, he quit his last coaching job.

He no longer has the fire

Coaching in the SEC is a grind and if you don’t have the fire to go at it 24/7 then this job ain’t for you

Give him a guy who knows the ins and outs of Louisiana high school football to work with him, and he’d be great.

Oregon put him back in his place.

The only good years Petersen had Oregon was down and out. Cristobal got it going and Udub wasn't a contender in the Pac 12 north much less a playoff contender. Yes, he could develop talent and had some good players drafted but that's not enough.

He got burned out in Montlake. He couldn't handle the pressure cooker that is the SEC.

Especially in Baton Rouge.
