Why melt over Kelly?

Wasn't my first choice but he's obviously a good coach. The only knock is his age means we might be doing this again in 5 years. As far as records and resumes, he's among the top in the country yet we have threads calling this a worse hire than Orgeron? Get a grip.

I don't care about his age as much as I do his personality and attracting top talent in the SEC.

If it was 10 years ago, it would be solid hire. Not in 2021, come on man.

How many coaches actually last more than 5 years anyway, regardless of age? After everyone is done melting they’ll realize we got a pretty damn good coach.
We just big leagued Notre Dame for a coach they had no desire to lose. Geaux tigers.

Bc LSU fans would’ve melted regardless of the hire lol. Kelly is a very good coach and recruiter. I’d be thrilled to have him

Because he’s not the guy lsu wanted. Woodward is a fraud and this is a panic hire.

How old is Saban? He's 10 years older than Kelly, and has dominated college football in the last decade. Kelly's age is irrelevant.

Spin it how you want. We got stood up by our prom date and had no fall back plan. I imagine the terms of the contract will show us that we vastly overpaid out of pure desperation. It certainly could have turned out worse, but Kelly wasn’t the guy we fired Orgeron for.
