Arkansas SMU TCU have not been taking recruits from TAM.

Please post pictures of said literal coaching graveyard. Is Lombardi buried there? Paul Brown? Don Shula?

Not recently.
But historically, they’ve been competitive. Hence no NCs @ aTm since 1939.
Bear Bryant couldn’t win a NC @ aTm.

I think people forget how ridiculous his first 2 season schedules were at A&M.
2018: 9-4 record. 4 losses to #1 Alabama, #2 Clemson, @ MS St, @ Aub. Beat #8 LSU, #13 Kentucky
2019: 8-5 record. 5 losses to #1 Clemson, #8 Auburn, #1 Alabama, #4 UGA, #2 LSU.
Then last year he goes 9-1. Only loss to #1 Alabama.
2 losses this year, #16 ark and miss st, weren't pretty but he beat #1 bama.
So blowing the doors off? Maybe not. But a lot of absolute morons on this board think he's done a bad job at A&M. 6 of his losses were to teams ranked 1 or 2 at the time. 6!

Because A&M has one NC in the past 100 years. Minnesota has more. Where is evidence of recent greatness from that program?
That program is second-class at best, not getting around that fact.

Because he is average!

He wasn't coming in to a full rebuild. Best facilities, smack in the middle of the best recruiting territory when the other big dog in the state has been average to below average. While he hasn't flopped, fair tovsay he hasn't done as well as many expected.
What did people expect? A&M is a weird place. It's incredibly obvious to everyone but A&M grads. I can't imagine what your typical recruit thinks of that place.
On Jimbo's results, in his third year at A&M, they finished ranked 4th in the country. That is literally their best finish since 1939. In the interim, Bear Bryant and Gene Stallings (both multiple time national championship coaches) coached there for a combined 11 seasons and neither finished that high. He has also substantially improved upon their recruiting.
I don't know what realistic expectations would have been, but it's hard to imagine they were higher than having their best finish since Hitler invaded Poland in his third season.

Because he isnt a good coach?

“Something something national championship
Something something good seasons at FSU
Yada yada doing good at A&M”
That’s what you’re going to get. It’s all crap but you got some here that are sycophants of Jimbo like others were for Orgeron. They will never see or admit that he is a less than perfect coach no matter how much evidence you show them.

He finished 2nd in West behind Bama 2 out of his first 3 years at A&M. He will likely make 3/4 vs LSU too.
Do you not realize how historically piss poor the west has been the last 4 years with the one exception to our 2019 year? You aren’t selling him very well here.

Lol what?!?
Do you remember those teams under Sumlin? Soft as baby shite on offense and defense.
He came in a immediately changed the culture and made that defense elite.
Their recruiting is light years better than it was.

His dysfunctional antiquated offense sucks to high heaven. No way Jimbo ever wins shite with that lame arse offense.

Add Jimbo to that list.

He walked into 8-4 talent. He's now got it up to about 10-2 talent. He's on his way to playoff talent.
He literally has Sumlins record.... one win vs Bama, no SEC Titles..... congrats?

So that deserves to be the highest paid coach in college football? Lol
Posted on 11/6/21 at 12:56 am to Beef Supreme
You do realize minus Clemson. Lsu plays the same schedule right? So I guess what your saying is get ready for some 4-5 loss seasons if we play ranked teams.. And that deserves 12 million a year?
