Why doesn't Old Dominion coach get more interest?

From what he said he was hired as their first coach (technically their second since they played ball in the 1930s) and when he got to his office the first day his phone was off and he had nothing to write with or on.
And he was Division 1-AA (which was called that at the time).
He took them, won.
Transitioned into Conference USA. Not the SEC or Big Ten but not exactly the Sun Belt either and he just won ten games (7-1 in Conference USA this year).
How is this guy not one of the hot shots out there? I had heard of him before but had pretty much forgotten about him until he lead his team to a win in the bowl game today.
He should be getting looks and I am amazed his name seemingly never comes up.
If his name has come up somewhere, maybe for Virginia or something, that it has not exactly been too loud or too often (unlike Kirby Smart last year, Tom Herrman this year, etc.). I don't get it.

He almost got the Temple job this year

He recruited me outta high school and offered a preferred walk on (I know, not a big deal, who cares) about 5 years ago. But he had ODU rolling right out of the gates. I have family in the VA Beach/Norfolk area and everyone speaks highly of him. I believe it's just a matter of time before he moves on to a more prestigious coaching position.
