Why does Lincoln get a pass

For his teams performance in the CFP. He’s 0-3 with each performance being worse than the year before.

Because he’s better that any college coach not named Saban or Dabo?

How many coaches have lead their team to the playoff three times? How many of them are “available”?

Name me a coach not named Saban or Dabo that has a sparkling CFB playoff record.

Coach O is 2-0 in the CFP. Want him?

So you want to get a coach that has never been in the CFP?

Let me guess, you want a coach from ull instead?

His team was a 2 touchdown underdog against Alabama and LSU. The Georgia game went to overtime and that Georgia team probably should have won it all that year if not for an incredibly bad defensive lapse in overtime against Alabama.

I love the commentary. There’s no denying he’s a great coach and if you can pull him then get him. But you can argue he made the playoffs the first three years under stoops recruits. His fourth season as head coach with his recruits he missed the playoffs and if this team was in the SEC they’d probably have 3 losses.

Honestly, I’d take getting back to the playoffs over where we’re at currently. Don’t get this gripe.

Ah the old “it’s better to have never gotten there than get there and lose” argument.

Skip Bertman failed his first 4 times in Omaha before winning the next 5 out of 10.

Ryan Day? I’d take Day over Riley all day every day

I just think it's easy enough to project a Saban-like jump for him at LSU with the talent pool he will be surrounded with. I don't know if people fully grasp how big a deal it is to have La. as your recruiting hotbed. It's huge and I believe he would lock down at least the skill players from here every year. Oklahoma as a state is nowhere near La. with regards to home-grown talent.

I mean Ryan Day has a better win percentage. His teams win decisively. Recruits SO MUCH better than Riley.

I have no problem with that. Tomorrow is Ryan Day Day!!!

because he is 38 and been to the CFP 3 times.
he will mostly likely be in many more CFP's.

So only hire coaches who win a CFP game…
Based on this logic, there would only be 2 coaches every season that would be qualified for our HC position — 1 would likely be Nick Saban and the other would be whoever he beats in the NC.
