The key hire is the DC and I firmly believe that Walker or Chavis will get the nod. He will / should select the DL, DB, LB coaches with Miles. I don't view Coach O as vital to the staff.

If Walker then yes Coach O is not vital

But if you get Chavis I think we need Coach O to make up the difference

I appreciate your point of view, but don't get it. Please explain. Walker and Chavis are both accomplished defensive coaches.

He is thought to be a must because he recruited top flight players to Ole Miss, and scared the hell out of us with his recruiting tactics, and almost put as much pressure on our recruiting base as Saban is doing. He also is an emotional coach that most of our fan base can relate to, and because of this trait, they think he can get our defense fired up to play every Saturday. Is this all true? I don't know. I hope he is also a very good defensive line coach.

this is true. They all "push the limits"/cheat. If you don't, you'll lose out on a ton of recruits. The key is not letting yourself get sucked in on a Lester Earl type guy. At some point, you've got to know when to cut them loose.

And on what do you base such a fantastic claim? Are you talking people in general or coaches in particular. And just how do you know them "all" to make such a declaration.
