What exactly is “Notre Dame quality” at this point? They haven’t won shite in over 35 years

Some hires work out, some don’t. It happens. This was the case, and will be the case for plenty of teams in the future, including LSU.

It comes with the job… when a hire isn’t working out, you make changes.

FWIW, the House hire was generally well-received. It was actually the Denbrock hire that made people scratch their heads and question. Ironic how it works out sometimes. Coaching hires aren’t easy… sometimes they work out, sometimes they don’t. There are SOOO many variables involved.

Who said anything about making Baker DC?

There’s no point to this argument if you are talking about Kelly keeping him as a position coach two years ago. He wouldn’t have been able to save the defense from House as a position coach and probably would have been fired with the rest of the staff a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah I never understood not keeping baker to begin with.

Because the team had a bad season and the coach got fired, and the new coach hired a hot NFL guy to be our DC. A guy who had been a good DC in the SEC before, and whose specialty was LB.

House was ALWAYS gonna be the linebacker coach here, so you don't retain the last one.
