That's a great question. Our special teams this year was atrocious!! If he has a great bbq sauce recipe, he needs to market it, and get the hell out of coaching.

Same question can be asked of Kragthorpe. A lot of fat/welfare cases on this staff.

Kragthorpe is currently in an admin position. He provides valuable assistance in looking over recruits film, etc..

Now Peveto is on the staff and whatever position he has touched has dramatically declined.

Peveto's daughter and Les's daughter are best friends.

We are stuck with Peveto until Les leaves. Les won't fire him and no other school will hire him away from us. Dude will be here a while, unfortunately. We could literally cut Ensminger and Peveto and let GAs perform their duties and I don't think we would notice a difference. Take their combined $686k salaries and give it to coaches that actually matter.

I can definately see Peveto, but Ensminger may be one of the hardest workers on the staff. He looks at all highschool recruits film. He does a lot of work behind the scenes. People may not like his coaching TE abilities but he plays a pivitol role in recruiting.

The special teams regressed a lot under his "coaching", and we may be trying to figure out how to get Orgeron into the mix and keep things at 10 coaches on staff. Simple solution:

- Hire Shoop (or whoever Les opts to hire)
- Keep Brick
- Hire Orgeron
- Fire or demote or help find Peveto another job doing anything else.

Agree. You could replace Peveto with Ensminger though.

Having said that, if you move Peveto out, who is going to coach special teams.

Yeah. I mean, I don't know what the deal with that dude is, but his results when he's in charge just haven't been good.

LSU special teams have been asset for pretty much the entire Miles has been here and then this year???? Not so much.

It may be coincidence that this happened when Peveto arrived but if so, that man has some bad luck.

I think people are incorrectly attacking Peveto. other than the FG kickers sucking, no one has given one damn fact to prove he is not good at what he's doing.

a FG kicker exploding is not usually a coaches fault. it happens a lot at all levels of football. it's "mental"

Couldn't he do this from an office like Kragthorpe? Opens up a coaching spot for an up and coming QB coach who also recruits his arse off. Give the TEs to Henry who would probably do a much better job with them since that's what he coached in the NFL.

Lets face it. No big schools were looking at Esminger or Peveto as big time assistants. They are retreads of retreads.

But hey, Esminger played QB back in the day for LSU so lets not say anything negative about him and hope he retires so we can get some help to Frank Wilson out on the recruiting trail. And I know Esminger helped with Harris, but Wilson and Raymond are 100x the recruiters out on the trail than Esminger. Lets give these guys some damn help.

Peveto did a good job with special teams this past year. The only problem we had was our kickers missing chip shots. Peveto was not the one out there kicking. I do have a problem with him not settling on one kicker and playing switch when them towards the end. You can tell the kickers were scared to screw up.

How would anyone ever know whether he has any ability to coach TEs? They must be watching practice.

I don't think Peve actually coaches the kickers. It's more of the personnel management and return and coverage teams than coaching the kickers.

So kickers don't get coached up? If the ST coach doesn't coach them, who does and why? Kickers just come to college and practice, no coaching? That's bullshite.

The kickoff out of bounds against Bama. The numerous other kickoffs where we tried to do something special by kicking it in the air to the 40 or 35. Each time you see Les going to Peveto for an explanation and Peveto pulling something out of his arse, babbling and pointing at the field.

Not impressed.

He provides nothing by being at practice and on the sidelines for games. Give him another bullshite title, let him do his recruit work, and put him back on when they increase the number in a few years.
