Don’t kid yourself man - 6 years $5mm/year. Money is obviously a reason he’s heading home.

I get yalls love affair with Nebraska - but the only reason I’m content living back home in Louisiana after moving back from Florida is because I make a lot more here than I did in Florida.

He’s gone, you were right. So congrats on that. My salty arse will be filling up at the ethanol free station by Celtic studios all week in a silent protest.

I think Frost is a very good coach. Nebraska is very lucky he is coming home. I just think it’s going to be a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. I don’t think Frost’s brand of football (aka Ducks redux) will find the personnel he needs in Lincoln to make it work. It’s hard to attract top talent to Nebraska now that they’ve been irrelevant for a generation.
I hope it works out for both he and Nebraska and they find much success together. But I’m afraid Frost may have just made a misstep that will set him back if not derail his career.

I’ll go ahead and paraphrase the responses you’ll get from Nebraska fans:

But. But. Nebraska. Like 3 other states, we’re bordered by six states Only two states are bordered by more states than us- Wyoming and Iowa and come on they’re the Mississippi’s of the Midwest. That makes us PRETTY freaking cool. Also, our kids can legally start working in corn fields at 12 years old (cha-ching). We’ve got an AMAZING fan base because there’s nothing else to do in our state once the CWS is over. Anyone that doesn’t want to come to Nebraska is insane.

Meth lab busts (2013):
Florida- 297
Nebraska - 9

Opioid Deaths (2016)
Florida - 5925
Nebraska - 53

Not sure why you brought this up, i was gonna look up coke statistics but we all know that’s a waste of time.

I think Frost will have a nice long run. He'll have a great season or two, and he'll win a lot of games. Maybe a few conference championships? Hell, if the sun and the stars and the moon all line up in just the right way for just long enough, maybe he'll even get Nebraska to the 4-team playoffs!

Scott Frost is impressive, but he's not getting Nebraska back to where it was. Nobody will. Like Minnesota of the 60's, Nebraska's run was an aberration created by an exceptional coach and sustained momentum.

The longer Nebraska flounders, the better Tom Osborne looks. I'm starting to think that his run at Nebraska is on par (and potentially better!) than what Bear Bryant did at Alabama.

Is $ a factor? Sure it is. But it's not the most important factor weighing his decision. If Frost wasn't born and raised in Nebraska, and hadn't played there, do you really think he'd still be going there over schools like Florida and FSU? Of course not. It's his Nebraska roots that is the determining factor, not $.

FWIW, I'm not from Nebraska, and I've only visited Nebraska twice. Yet they're my favorite team. As far as Nebraska the state goes, it's pretty meh; it's not a "sexy" state by any means. But as far as passionate fans go, it can't be topped. The gameday atmosphere, fans, campus, tradition, and facilities are al top-notch.

So you didn’t go there, don’t live there, and have never lived there yet you’ve been touting your ‘inside souces’ LOL

Just post screen shots from the threads on 24/7 or rivals next time for us.

Muice, you're an example of another guy who showed up late to the party and is now trying to play catch-up. The problem is, all of these little quips that you are typing you think are witty, have already been said multiple times and shot down. You're attempts at witticism and humor are failing miserably, and your lack of originality is embarrassing.

I'll tell you like I told the others: come to Tracey's in New Orleans on any given Saturday when a Nebraska game is in progress. There's a group who gathers there, New Orleanians for Nebraska. Many of the people were born there, raised there, went to school there, and were even letter-winners there, but have relocated to New Orleans for job purposes.

One of them, who works at Tulane, has a father who is a prominent doctor in Nebraska. When they were kids, his father repaired Scott's brother Steve's harelip. They are now next-door neighbors in Lincoln. His nephew plays football for Parkview Christian, where Scott's dad, Larry, is the head coach.

So when this guy tells me something and assures me that he's 100% certain, and that his dad got the info from Frost's parents, then I believe him.

But you go ahead and think otherwise, like all of the other doubters and haters and naysayers, who has ridiculed me throughout this entire coaching search. It all comes to fruition this weekend.

I live in NE. Went to UNL, graduated and what padigrin is saying is true. I've heard all the same rumors as he has been posting.

Of course, we know that when Frost does come to Nebraska, the talking heads won't feel any shame. They'll just pass it off with "Well, did anybody REALLY expect him to go elsewhere...it is his home after all."

From the get go I’ve been at best optimistic at the potentially slim chance he stays.

I just enjoy messing with you because as a sidewalk fan you are so emotionally attached to Scott Frost’s return.

I've been a diehard Nebraska fan since the '83 season -- you know, Rozier, Gill, Rimington, Fryar. I'm about as invested in this program as an out-of-state fan can be.

Sidewalk fan? Just like the Gator fans, you continue to fail, but you keep right on trying. Admirable.
