Keith Carter to announce interim playoff coach Kane Liffin at a 5 o'clock presser tomorrow.
Liffin will be unable to appear or speak due to a recent full body fire accident but looks forward to leading the Rebels through the one playoff game they will participate in.

Ed will assemble the roster with Thomas for kiffin

Announcing that he is the new head coach of LSU is good enough. Especially when assistants can handle recruiting while he’s coaching in the playoffs.

Because players are participating in holding OM hostage. If Kiffin's got enough players sharing the same sentiments, OM really has no choice but to capitulate. If players start opting out because they forced their favorite coach out the door, they can take away what OM has never had before they even have it.
I'll concede that it's short sighted on players parts as the OM program must go on, but they're all hired mercenaries anyways who have little loyalty to the institution.

Because Verge is the AD and he has the same amount of balls as all of my aunts.

Knowing who the coach is is plenty. We have recruiters to handle the rest

Him Coaching the playoff has nothing to do with recruiting or going after next years roster.
That’s the honorable thing to do and right thing to do. He cannot catch hire a staff and get them to recruit while he makes phone calls/visits when his time allows like he normally would.
LSU is right to allow him to finish this season out if he wants to. Ole Miss has a right to want him or someone else to Coach the playoffs if he won’t remain their coach for next season.

Because if he’s the guy they really want, allowing that is what will get him here. It’s not complicated.
I’d rather sacrifice one signing day to get the right guy than sign the wrong guy and continue to wallow in mediocrity

This isn’t about LSU allowing him. It’s about Ole Miss saying leave, you’re dead to us.
What a stupid post. LSU is paying the bucks to hire a coach and expects him to be in place in time to have a positive impact for next season. You think LSU is willing to blow off next season to satisfy Lane's ego in a definite losing effort in the playoffs?

Why not? You don’t think he can recruit the portal and coach a playoff game?

From what is being reported, the holdup is Ole Miss not allowing him to stay through the playoff. It has nothing to do with LSU demanding him report right away.

So who's payroll is he on during this exercise in fantasyland? OM coach running LSU portal efforts or LSU coach coaching another school in the playoffs? Get real.

If he keeps frank and he’s the front man with lane HC in waiting… then I don’t see how it’s that big of a deal

Sure OM can do what they choose but it's not just LK & OM at the table. LSU has a chair and they can level their own set of requirements too.

Anyone remember Michigan AD Bo Schembechler famously said, "I don't want someone from Arizona State coaching the Michigan team. A Michigan man is going to coach Michigan."

He can not sign a legal contract and also be the Coach of Ole Miss, he is under contract with Sip.
