The question was who were the top DC’s. Way to move the goal post.

Baker from everything I’m seeing won’t be offered the Tulane job.

That’s all fine and good, but if LSU calls with a big offer, minds can change. Maybe he won’t and he’s committed to Auburn, but coaches say a lot of shite when they’re uncertain of the available options.

DJ Durkin would be a top choice if Baker leaves.

Muschamp or Vince Kehres.

The Toledo defense numbers are insane.

I think Bryant Haines at Indiana is top 10.

Top Defenses 2025

Are there any formulas for rating defensive efficiency, say, similar to a QBR- type number?
Maybe a “yards allowed per possession” stat?
Or taking TOP into account?

If your offense has a whole bunch of 3&outs, you’re gonna give up a lot more yds than if you could keep the ball longer…doesn’t mean your D is worse, just your O sucks…

Note how many Top 20 D’s have winning records-
How many are ball control types, win the TOP stats, or how many are high-scoring and force the opponent to play catch-up? If you are leading the whole game your rushing D stats get better and better, not because you can stop the run, but time dictates the opponent has to throw…

Some defense stats can be misleading- like, if you have the worst pass defense in the country then your rushing stats will look good because everybody throws against you….

How complicated would it be to calculate a defensive efficiency rating? Take into account TOP, opponents’ possessions per game, scoring differential per possession (less credit for low rushing yds in 4thQ when leading late, or for low passing yds surrendered when opponent has big lead and is killing the clock, etc)), more credit weighted to forcing 3&out when needed, less credit for giving up 1st downs when you need the ball back, etc, etc…

Somebody write a formula up and get AI to crunch the numbers!

I swear if some of yall had it your way we’d have 100% LSU staff and would be mad as hell losing 4/5 games. Let Kiffin hire the BEST available coaches.
Yes, absolutely. The "Luzianner Lifer/One of Us" brigade are ignorant, uneducated and alcoholic. (With rock bottom standards and a very high level of mediocrity acceptance) I was born in Louisiana (Monroe) and lived most of my life in Mandeville, but i'm absolutely not a stereotypical "One of Us" type.
