Which way does Les lean as far as philosophy?

Is he an offensive minded coach or defensive? I know he vetoed GC a few times, but does he have that much involvement with the defensive scheme? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I live in Florida and have a tough time following LSU like I want to. I'm asking because with whoever we bring in, how much of their known style sticks and how much of it will be a hybrid with Les' style.
Most people flip out with the idea of bringing in RR because of what he usually runs, and he's not my favorite candidate, but I don't feel it would be a carbon copy of what he ran at Michigan and West Virginia.

he was an olineman at Michigan and a TE coach in the NFL

I think Les would allow his OC to determine the offensive philosophy as long as they still have the ability to pound it on the ground.

Miles' philosophy is a ball control, run first, dominate the O-line type of offense. He has been running this type of offense since OSU.
That being said, the new OC would compliment Les very well if he had a talent developing QB's. With Les at LSU for the long term, he will always focus on the run game first.
Chavis runs that defense. Period.

bingo. probably has a lot to do with a big 12 mentality but if your offense has the ball you are knocking out two birds with one stone (scoring points, shifting field position, playing defense). i think les is a fan of ball control and TOP. he hasnt really been able to do it lately, but i think thats his preference. running the ball is typically the best and easiest way to accomplish this, but if the offense is successful it would take a crazier man than les to tell him no

So needless to say, Les was probably not a big fan of the short side option
