He doesn't coach in Indiana, he coaches in Louisiana. It always amuses me how many people hate it that ULL is referred to as Louisiana. Why do you care so much?

It doesn’t. It’s silly and contradictory with the perpetuated notion that ULL is an inferior program to LSU that doesn’t matter. LSU is the state’s flagship school— who cares if ULL has convinced ESPN to refer to them as “Louisiana”.

I don't have any motivations... just curiosity. Because the Lafayette likes to pound their chest about being the "Louisiana" school, as if they're the golden standard. And wondering why Monroe doesn't claim the "Louisiana" label.
Maybe they play and both show up wearing "Louisiana" on their jerseys. Game will end with:

UL Monroe set "ULM" as their athletic label.
UL Lafayette set "Louisiana" as their athletic label. ULM set theirs before "Louisiana" was used. So "Louisiana" was available to be used by ULL.
I'm paraphrasing heavily but I believe that is the just of it.
If I'm wrong someone please correct me.
