He should however show he can improve and maintain a football program of any sort before a premiere program makes him a priority.

that is what he is doing right now. Still has 2 games left though to solidify his credentials. REaly doesn't matter how he would do at other schools or who else would hire him. that is not really relevant to anything.

its not his team...all he did was inject energy into a lifeless program... anyone can do that in the short term.. that's why he is good at the interim position and that's why he was chosen just for that position..

Clemson hired Dabo Swinney after he went 4-3 as an interim. It worked out okay.

he was also a winning head coach of a power 5 program that he made better.. not that much better, but it was still better.. and he beat Bob stoops (the hot name then) twice. that was prob the biggest reason he was hired..

Honestly, most of those programs would seriously consider Coach O given similar circumstances as LSU this year. The fact he is winning as the interim matters.

Also, Alabama hired Mike Shula. I would take Coach O over Jay Fiedler QB coach and so would you.

Yes, winning as an interim is an anomaly.

no i dont agree, although it was a surprise hire that no one saw coming, going by the traditional factors in which most hire coaches im sure he was on a list for many schools, as is his predecessor now.. and we now have the information that it was Gundy who was responsible for their offenses not miles..

After LSU lets this great man walk, he will be upset, and all of those school will try to hire him for his recruiting ability alone.

well it's not Miles team anymore, so whose team is it?
I would say that it is his team NOW

YOU REALLY THINK THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO BEING A HEAD COACH?

apparently not

was he? Seems to me this is a test of his abilities. You saying interim coaches never get hired to be the permanent coaches? Dabo Swinney disagrees.

He would have to prove himself at a Power 5 school and over come that 22-33 record .

Perhaps. But not for the programs that are listed by the OP.

I wander if it will even be a p5. I could see a Houston or another school in AAC.
