Which is worse, losing your QB1 or HC just before the playoffs?

Granted it's now a 12 team playoff, but FSU got screwed a few years ago. If LK leaves OM and does not another game at OM, does the selection committee penalize OM like they did FSU and drop them in rankings or completely out of the playoffs?

Yes.

But if Deboer jumps to the NFL they'll say "they earned it on the field, you can't penalize them".

We still would have eaten Clemson’s arse (pause) without Orgeron. Depends on the QB.

Thankfully we aren’t in a 4 team playoff anymore so we don’t have to worry about this

A coach is easier to replace for a month than a star quarterback.

Depends on if Bama is on the bubble and needs to jump you to get in the playoff. If they are safely in, then it won't matter to the committee.
