I'd like to see him as head coach of the Falcons. But he's going to be a hot commodity. The Panthers will also be after him and so will the Giants if they get rid of Shurmur. I'd bet Graham Harrell follows him as OC wherever he goes.

Why is he a hot commodity? Outside of one decent season at CO, he was below average and rumored to be fired each season.

ETA:

Wrong Mike. My bad.

He is who they should've hired last year over Kitchens.

Not sure but he deserves another shot. He’s done a good job of evolving during his year off.

He will fit right in in Cleveland. Dude looks EXACTLY like Freddie Kitchens when they both have a beard. It is weird af.

Falcons are a coach and a few other pieces away from being a contender. They have to be pretty attractive. I don't know if they will look at McCarthy but I wouldn't hate it.

Why? Just because he played for him for 3 seasons as a backup/practice squad guy?

GH runs his own version of the air raid, he is from the Mike Leach tree.

Not saying you are wrong, just kind of trying to understand why you were saying it.

Dimitroff put this team in salary cap hell with bloated contracts. Why the frick would you give a 30 year old WR an almost fully guaranteed 3 year, $66M deal? That's NBA level stupidity. The roster is going to look a lot different next season.

The fact that he played for him and the fact the McCarthy reportedly has kept up with the trends in football will likely implement the most innovative of those in his next job
