When does Jeremy Pruitt go out on his own?

Alabama alum, but I am very sure the dude will be getting P5 offers very soon.
I can actually see LSU going this route if O doesn't work out, seeing how Kirby's been able to take the Saban blueprint and apply it to UGA so well.
you can bet Rush Probst will be his OC tho!!!

hope he has cleaned up his act off the field. the last thing we need is a sark situation.

well Louisiana has many catholics and we are religious people so you know the bottle isn't going to be a problem for big Jeremy.

nah, hes a different guy then smart... pruitt is a lifer as a DC. not HC material... too emotional.. I think the same thing about Muschamp, albeit Muschamp is trying to curb his alittle... they just need guys on staff that are just as tenacious as they are.. then they can pull back.. I think Canada helps Oregeron in the same way..

If Pruitt wants to be a HC at this juncture, he probably should take a HC gig at lesser program before trying to run a big time program.

Pruitt is almost more of a Propst guy than a Saban guy at this point. He could use a little more seasoning.
He would win but would also be a walking, talking PR problem if he got a top job now. He would have the NCAA giving his program an enema in no time.

I know a number of people who have had a working relationship with JP, and all say he is very personable and knowledgeable about football.

Supposedly there is "mutual" interest between Pruitt and Ole Miss.

Kirby did it well. 11 seasons with Saban (and Bama pays assistants as much as some west coach teams pay head coaches). He got to pick his big time school.
If Pruitt is patient, he can do the same without having to worry about a rebuild at a smaller school or unwinnable university (looking at you and miss st, mullen)

Smart has done a good job, thus far, at UGA. But what about Muschamp, Dooley, McElwain? All three had SEC jobs and were gone with in a few years.
Are Smart and Fisher the exceptions instead of the rule?

They went to better universities than the others. Built in success.

I was super purported to see how young he is. I feel like he has been a DC forever.

If Pruitt didn't flee Tallahassee right before signing day in 2014 he might be the HC at LSU right now.

doubtful, we still would have hired the ogre dude

Probably so but after a couple more top 5 defenses he would definitely be an HC right now.

Both worked with him for quite a while. Kirby appears to be replicating tProcess more than the others.

I don't know that Pruitt has the demeanor to last a really long time with Saban like Kirby did. You can see when they interact on the sideline that Pruitt is much more fiesty and seems to take Saban's criticisms harder, whereas Kirby was able to basically brush it off. I think Pruitt will be out of there either after this season or the next.
I'm curious who the next DC would be. There's not a natural next guy up from my standpoint. Maybe Tosh becomes that guy? He's been around a while now. It's hard to say how much Saban trusts him to be a playcaller. Hell, Saban might be done after this year or the next so it could be moot.

Some guys just don't have the personality to make it work. If Kirby and Jimbo are two of the top 10 coaches in CFB right now (maybe top 15?), that's pretty good. Muschamp has shown to be a solid coach as has McElwain. Dooley obviously was a dumpster fire. Not everyone can handle everything that goes on at a big-time program but can do well at places on a smaller stage. I think all of those guys had proven themselves to be VERY GOOD football minds.
