My concern is he wrestles 7M/yr and a massive buyout (which coaches like Urban and your guy command) and we end up 8-3 every year.

Don't worry it's nothing new. Won't be seeing Herman in purple and gold

Nothing. Idle speculation. Unfortunately, not a single credible source has suggested that we have attempted to or are nearing a deal with Herman. Rather, what scant information there is indicates we are down to Jimbo and Fedora. If true, no idea why we didn't pursue Herman more aggressively.

P.S. I'd be happy with Jimbo.

Can't agree with that. There are some legitimate, verified program insiders on some of the premium boards. They are credible, in my view. But of course no one knows precisely what's occurring in the AD other than Alleva and his inner circle.

But Chad Morris and ken niumatalolo owned him and he has accomplished less at uh than Kevin sumlin.

I'm not saying I wouldn't be happy with Herman, but he is certainly the riskier pick than fisher.

Agree...higher risk, but also higher reward. I think Jimbo (who is not coming BTW) is probably one game per year better than Miles, and likely cannot get us over the Bama hump.

Herman may be riskier, but he also has higher potential (see his dismantling of Saban in playoff when Saban had weeks to prepare).

This is the biggest reason for me, if regular guys like us can see that leaking false info to the media and "insiders" will appease the masses while you do your actual search under wraps, you have to believe someone who's job it is to do these things should know this as well. But then I look at Alleva and I'm not sure if he's smart enough to do this intentionally.

Bottom line is leaks caused an issue last year, whether it was enough to affect the outcome I won't comment on. If they haven't learned to keep their mouths shut this time around they shouldn't be in the position to be making these decisions.

The wind changed directions and the schizophrenia of fans has them try to change their opinions/hopes/wants to be in line with what they view is a possible coach so they can ultimately feel like "this was who we wanted all along, we can pull the big name coach, and our job is what we thought/hoped it was".

Bottom line, LSU is without doubt a top 10 job in the country. Depending on the coach, some may have it as a top 5 (or even the best) in the country. All that said, if Texas doesn't F it up, they're getting Herman. If LSU doesn't F it up, you're likely to get Jimbo.

I agree with most of this, except its not fans trying to feel like thats who we wanted all along. Its fans trying to use a handful of info and spin it to convince themselves "their guy" is the one getting hired.

i know thats what im doing. Team Herm!

There's no denying it,anyone other than Fisher or Herman will be a disappointment.

What exactly did Sumlin accomplish that Herman hasn't? Not being snide, I really am curious.
