Weigman could cook in a petrino offense. You just wonder about the fit and timing.

I too am skeptical of Jimbo and Petrino co-existing.

But I would be skeptical regarding any established OC they hire. I simply cannot see Jimbo giving up total control over the offense.

In reality, not message board land, the Aggies can’t either. There is a reason Longo, Riley, and others have not taken that job.

This is a Bo Pelini Esque hire

Aged mind, game has past him by results, coaching at a division 3 school with less than favorable results. Just to start.

The other part is simply not being able to attract a big name because they know he will meddle.

It is pretty obvious the similarities.

No, it actually is. But I’m sure your fans will convince yourselves that he’s the greatest thing ever because he’s associated with A&M even though y’all are consistently one of the least successful football schools in the SEC

Jimbo will continue calling the plays as most intelligent aggies knew he would from the get go of this dog and pony show

I’d be very surprised if they elevated Craig to the OC position. That would lead to zero changes - why even bother at that point?

Bc the boosters “are demanding” a new offensive coordinator. Les…I mean Jimbo…will have “no choice or they’ll fire him” lol

So they’ll get a new offensive coordinator alright

From a distance, it looks very much like O’s post-2020 DC hire. We all figured they would just money-whip someone good into taking the position and that obviously didn’t happen. The uncertainty of O’s situation played a big role in him not being able to close those deals.

A&M’s situation is different, but may be worse. Fisher may be smarter and more engaged than post-2019 O, but he is still definitely on a hot seat next season and he’s also always run his own offense and clearly still wants to. That’s not the best way to get great candidates to beat down your door.

I don't know why I keep seeing people say his name unless it's as a joke? If Jimbo was going to elevate somebody already on staff this obvious choice would be James Coley. He's been an OC for Jimbo and called plays at Miami and UGA. This would still give Jimbo some amount of control as he could at least be in on the scripted plays and it wouldn't be all that awkward if he felt like overriding a call.
