What’s the point of co-coordinators?

Only 1 man can call plays. Are they going to take the time to discuss every play call between plays?

They take turns calling plays.

It is a terrible concept! Find some examples of when it was done on a championship caliber program successfully and our conversation can continue.

Money and pride and leverage and resume building for the coach
But mostly money
But mostly money

So you speak for everyone? Pretty easy to talk shite when you pretend to know the answer.

Auburn 2013 - national runner up
Florida State 2014-2016
These were just the first two examples that came to mind, beyond Clemson, which was already mentioned. It's been very successful in places. We just have PTSD from Maleveto skewing our perception.

At Auburn you got Malzhon calling plays, FSU Jimbo, Clemson Swinney...if your cool with Fred Flintstone calling the offensive plays then go ahead!

In this case it would be to manage public outcry against a weak hire. Yet the weak hire would still be in the position and O would control the offense as he wants. Has not happened yet but O wants control so we will see.

The statement was that it's never worked on a championship level and we couldn't even discuss it unless examples could be provided where it has actually worked. Clemson, FSU and Auburn were the first three examples that came to mind.
You wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, or are you always this unpleasant?

There is way more to OC position than calling plays. The fact that i have to say that out loud scares me. Co-Oc’s just means you have two guys that develop the offense and it’s game plan. One is designated as the play caller.

you only have one coordinator but it allows the coach to pay one more money.

I think Co-coordinators is a terrible thing just like a 2 quarterback system will not have consistency.

TCU has Co-Cordinstors on some very good teams. That 2015 team I think That had a strong argument to be in the playoffs.

Exactly.
Regarding play calling, though, I found an interesting tidbit when looking into Tee Martin a week or so ago. Martin calls plays on first and second down and Helton calls plays on third down. I didn't look into their third down efficiency, but I know their offense was pretty highly ranked.
