It's not about what he's done at Oregon

I was intrigued by Taggart coming to UF, but was surprised his recruiting at USF was not better than it was given his connections to the area. His last two classes were both ranked 66th in the country, that's not particularly great even by USF standards.

It's 2017 -- do you really have to ask this question? Google image search him if you're not aware of who he is.

At a glance his overall WL record as a HC looks unimpressive. But he rebuilt two programs that were in rough shape. So, he had some inevitable losses in the early going at those two stints. He had those programs rolling when he left.

That's why Oregon hired him. Similarly he's had some inevitable losses in the early going at Oregon. He's recruiting very well at Oregon and has the program already trending upward well.

Taggart is an excellent coach & recruiter and a great fit at FSU. Reportedly, as FL native, he may consider a program such as UF or FSU to be a dream/destination job.

Why is he a better value than proven coaches like Kiffin and Leach (who has a home in Key West)?

Why would Taggart leave for FSU anyway, lateral move, would make him look horrible.

Not a lateral move when recruiting the state of Florida becomes much easier. He's a SoFl guy, so he'd be going home.

I know they've probably played in a couple of those Grandaddy of them All games, but how many Natty's does Oregon have?

Agree on your points, but he is from Bradenton not necessarily a SoFL guy.
