losing to a team that should have been mailing it in yesterday and missing out on a bowl game has to hurt ...

Dooley still talks a good presser with his saban imitation so I think most of the fan base still believes in him

Exactly

He fooled that fanbase into thinking he was some great coach that was going to come in and get things going in the right direction immediately, just from his ability to communicate. Heck, fooled me too because I thought he could be successful as well.

He'll get another year, but I don't think he deserves one.

I was never really sold on him. He has a good last name and can do a good saban impression, so people assumed he learned everything there is to know under Nick.

He really hasn't accomplished all that much as a coach unless you believe he just did an amazing job with LSU's TEs.

He never really did much at La Tech either. He wouldn't have been hired if it wasn't for his last name.

Exactly. Sonny Dykes is doing a more impressive job than Dooley did.

But, let's be clear, he just isn't a very good coach. After five complete seasons as a head coach he's now 28-34. He's had one winning season in five chances. He's never been an offensive or defensive coordinator and it shows. If his last name was Smith, he wouldn't be a head coach at al

this about sums it up

Plus he comes off as a pissed off teenager every time I see him talk. He's jut not an SEC-caliber coach. Tennessee has become irrelevant and Lane Kiffin is being awesome in SoCal

Not really.. His seat will warm but he will coach next season and he deserves to coach next season.

What can he do with a roster not overloaded with freshmen and sophomores? What can he do with a healthy team? At this point, he hasn't done anything to make me say he will do it. I don't have much confidence. But he deserves year 3.

I remember when everyone from North Louisiana was saying this was an excellent hire for UT, but none of them could offer an explanation why. They'd always say "Trust me. You're not from here. You don't get it," and shite like that, even though it was abundantly clear that he wasn't qualified for a big time job.

Clay Travis is not the guy to go by. Dude has Franklin's nuts in his mouth and is a huge Vandy cheerleader.

I don't remember anyone saying that, I thought it was the dumbest thing I had ever heard of. He did nothing here at Ruston, but piss people off.
