What makes Campbell superior to Stoops? You can't look at anything he's done at Iowa State and make an argument that he's heads and shoulders better than Stoops.

Their overall records over the last 4 years are nearly identical, and they both coach at schools that have historically been punching bags in their respective conferences.

The only Matt Woody should consider is coaching in Carolina. Campbell is a C- at best.

B+ with potential A- because of how far he’s taken them from where they were.

C- nothing that’s going to bring excitement to the program.

Campbell is the Mark Stoops of the Big XII.

Stoops' first year at Kentucky: 2-10
Campbell's first year at Iowa State: 3-9

Stoops' record since 2018: 31-17
Campbell's record since 2018: 30-19

You can't make an argument for Campbell while being disgusted at the idea of Mark Stoops. They have almost identical records at punching bag schools in their respective conferences.

My argument for Campbell would be that one guy is 41 and the other is 54. I judge coaches far differently based on where they are in their careers.

A lot is outlined in this LE thread

The corpse of Rich Brooks and Hal Mumme all had winning seasons at UK. It’s easier to recruit to Lexington than Ames, Ia and UK gets a profile boost from its hoops program. Iowa State has nothing like that to hang it’s hat on. It’s also SEC and in a time where UF and Tennessee have been down. Hell Mizzou and South Carolina have played for an SEC title since 2010.

I like his experience and knowledge of both sides of the ball. I don’t not like Stoops but acting like Campbell would be some trash bargain basement hire is ridiculous.

At first glance I think I most would say a B-C type hire, but would consider it much greater than that a year or two into his tenure. Campbell is an awesome coach, motivator, and manager. He would win big here with no drama on the side. I’d be pumped to get him.

I'd give Campbell a C (meh we'll see) but I'd have to give SW a D- for not doing what we all though he would do.

That's part of being at Iowa State and having an Iowa State budget.

Campbell is a great coach. I do wonder that if he's like Fickell where he would be better off staying in the Midwest somewhere because that's what he knows. If Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, or Notre Dame were to come open in the next year or two, Campbell and Fickell would be great for any of them. I also think the NFL is a possibility for Campbell.

Napier right down road would be A for multiple reasons…..
1. Costs. Overpay for one of these name coaches and we risk becoming TX or having a Jimbo as a HC.
2. Recruiting LA
3. Great coach who follows a strong logical path.
4. Keeps Napier from FL where he will wreck shite on everyone. LSU will live to regret letting him slip away if we do.

You serious? His OC has been nominated for the Broyles Award twice.
