Big Coaching names are great but what does it take to get to the next level? Kiffin might be able to get Ole miss to a championship but just don't feel thats gonna happen.

Coach O did it...unlikely due to him. We had amazing players and decent coordinators. We'll never really know how much Brady did or not. 2019 to today is very different. You have players for a yr and then someone pays them better.

So what does Lsu need to get back to a championship and which coach do you think can best do all that is needed?

Money and total organizational control

He has that at Ole Miss and he had the roster to win a title last years. He just inexplicably lost to fricking Kentucky and Florida

I think it has to do with the culture of the progrum. A lot of SEC teams strike me as taking a more business-minded approach to each game. That starts with the head ball coach.

Also, you need to purchase an elite QB with a high football IQ and the ability to run the ball if needed.

Other than that...just win, baby.

People continuously underestimate the football prowess of Steve Ensminger. He was setting LSU offensive records with Danny Etling prior to Brady and Burrow ever showing up. Brady is a good OC right now, but he wasn't that 6 years ago. Ensminger was the engine behind the offense and his humility is the reason barely anyone acknowledges it.

I'm pretty sure we do.

Ensminger was LSU's OC in 2016 and 2018. The latter of which with Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, CEH, etc. In 8 quarters vs Alabama LSU managed a grand total of ZERO points. Then a new OC comes in and LSU scores 46 @ Alabama, which was just one of several remarkable performances in that record setting year.

LSU would have been a good team in 2019 without Brady. But they wouldn't have been the NC or been anywhere as dominant as they were with Brady. Hell, the voters for the Broyles Award showed you just how much Brady did. He won the award despite technically not being LSU's OC.
