Let’s be honest, can the top recruiting class in the sunbelt be “far and away” better than everyone else? I would say no, someone has to be the top class and it just happens to be his.

Then maybe we shouldn't call him a great recruiter?

Not my fault he took so long to get somewhere in his career?

yeah that's the long version of he's 0-2 in Sunbelt Championship games

And his batshit in-game decisions but we just overlook those because he coaches at a school in LA.
Fair point if we’re going to be critical of Kiffin. They’ve missed three XPs this year though & he’s confident in his offense. When it works + you win...

Not struggle against sun belt teams despite an apparently large talent advantage?

False Narrative. Same talent

Winning every game despite equal talent is literally an indicator of being a great coach.

Nicholls was never in position to win that game. It was sloppy but they didn’t struggle.
They most certainly were a pick six away from winning that game. I was there. Scored 14 straight to end the game, and thoroughly outgained UL offensively 511-394. Lindsey Scott was a one-man wrecking crew UL could not figure out and almost single-handedly willed Nicholls to a win.

Seems a lot of LSU fans here are in love with him, yet his own fans packed in, what, 8,000 K mabe? Hard to tell on tv but the stadium had huge gaps all over. For all his offensive creativeness, being a Saban clone, a great recruiter, all he does is win attitude, etc etc etc...no USL fans seem to care one way or another.

I love how since this board has opened, Napier supporters have argued how great his recruiting is, but now they're arguing "it's the same as the rest of the conference".

I like Napier. Not in love & not my first choice. But some of these arguments are whack. ULL is winning at a clip they never have before. If their fans / school can’t show up on Thursday nights now, they never will. That’s not a demerit for the HC.

He's won 6 SBC games in the last two years by less then 7 points.

Hardly impressive from a school that has an insane amount of advantages compared to like ULM and Troy etc.

So his recruiting is overrated?

His recruiting is whatever it needs to be in the moment to forward the narrative.

It seems people on here are expecting him to bring SEC talent into the SunBelt and be steam rolling every team they play. The highest ranking SunBelt recruiting class is still a SunBelt clas
Exactly, the best Sunbelt class isn't going to be lightyears better than the second and third classes.

Not lose by three touchdowns to a poor Texas team would’ve been a good start.
