I like Reilly still. Take a shot at Farentz (10% chance). Calhoun. Edsall. Maybe even a whittingham. There are names to look at. Farentz is the only one out of this list with a wow factor to me though.

Yeah, those are definitely guys to look at.
Whittingham or Calhoun are probably the only guys with a "hot" coaching star right now... at least at all similar to a guy like Meyer or Brian Kelly (though not as much).
I'm not a big Ferentz fan.
Edsall has built a nice program at UCONN... but is that the best place for him?
Mike Riley is a great coach, I agree.

I know its cliche at this point....but JDR would be our best case scenario

Would be an interesting candidate... I'd like the hire, but definite risks involved (can he coach college namely... NFL mentality is way different).
Wouldn't be worried about his ability to recruit though... he has that personality kids would love plus a resume of defensive pupils to brag about.

Jack Del Rio. I still don't know why everyone loves this guy?

Hoke is one of the best options, IMO. I'm sticking to my guns. He's turned both programs he's been at around.

Yeah, he's another. I think we could steal Pitt's new coach and staff. That would be awesome too.

Hoke is solid, but he's never had a great season.
He also wants that Michigan job.

I will not. You can't tell me the guy wouldn't have legit interest.

Calhoun, Sumlin, Hoke, and Mullen

shite. I kept trying to figure out who I was leaving out.

I'm not ready to crown mullen like some folks. I've seen the guy do a lot of dumb shite in games and yea I know its MSU, but his offense hasn't been what's won games these

He definetly has some 2006-2008 Sean Payton in him. I still have a hard time understanding how he didn't score on us in 2009 when he had first and goal from the 1 foot line and a 240 lbs running back.

I think people have also fell in love with the guy because of the perception that urban failed without him.

I think Mullen is fantastic.
Quickly took back the recruiting stronghold in the state of Mississippi, is winning with a QB less talented than any on our roster and with solid but not spectacular skill players.

I think mullen is great for a school like MSU, just not sold on him being put under the microscope at a big time program.
I'm also not a huge fan of the offense anyway.

Fair point... that's how I feel about Gary Patterson.
As for the offense... I'm lukewarm. Under Meyer the routes were based off an NFL passing tree... so that's helpful.

Yes we could do worse. I'm just not completely sold on Mullen like most.
