Him and O know each other well and are actually friends. They’ve both had many fond things to say about each other in the past. He is who I want the most as OC. His teams at Penn State scored 30+ in 21 out of the 24 games that he was OC. He’s had the Oregon offense playing well and creative with an inexperienced QB who tends to be mistake prone at times. Mississippi State fans will talk shite about it but they’re the same ones that were throwing a party when he was hired as the head coach there because they knew how great he was as a coordinator. Moorhead is legitimately one of The Godfather’s of the RPO/Spread offense. Teams in college and the NFL use a lot of the concepts he originated and reference them as “the Moorhead offense”. He was also Joe Brady’s mentor at Penn State and Brady credits him a ton for the coach he is today.

He’d be a homerun hire. I think he’s the best candidate. People will harp on how he did at Miss St., but that is a tough place to coach. He sure seemed to play LSU tough every year he was there. Look at how Mike Leach did this year...does Mike Leach suck as an offensive play caller? No. Moorhead also knows the SEC very well. I’m sure he’d love to stick it to Miss St. and LSU provides him with an opportunity to do that.

Square peg into a. Round hole.

Fitzgerald was a very specific type of QB and Moorehead asked him to be someone he was not.

And then they just didn’t have a QB
