This is stupid. Sounds like an excuse for a whiff.

Just like the baseball hire. Names flying everywhere. All speculation. No evidence. Every “source” has been wrong! This is the best way to conduct a hire
Why is that the right way to conduct a coaching hire at this level?
Name the benefits.

Even if you go all in on a candidate and they turn you down, it doesn't necessarily equate to a failure. People turn job offers down all the time - yes, even ones with much higher salaries. Money is everything to everyone.

Can people stop posting stuff from a Reveille writer. It’s a college kid looking at the same sources as us.
He’s likely just mostly looking HERE.

Absolutely NO ONE thought of Jay Johnson and Kim Mulkey. No one

Or a hall of fame coach that grew up 60 miles from campus?
Her name came up but no one actually believed Mulkey would leave Baylor until it happened. She’d built a hell of a program over the past 20 years and is one of the best. 12 years straight of Sweet 16s, all of 3 of which made it to the Elite 8. That’s one of the biggest coups in WCBB history.

The failure is in letting the rumors and speculation get so much traction without being certain of the outcome. That’s Woodward’s fault, though most don’t want to admit that.

Care to let us know how you think Woodward should have done a better job controlling message board rumors?
