I don't think it's naive.
The personal issues seem to be irreparable. So, staying may not be an option. And, no matter who LSU might have "lined up" nothing is done until it's done.
It's highly unlikely that anyone is a definite hire at this point.

I've said since the Canada rumors started months ago that there's no way Orgeron would promote from within. That doing so would burn down any goodwill he's built up with the large portion of the fan base that didn't want him hired.
I'm sitting here shaking my head thinking, "there's no way he'd actually hire Ensminger".
God I hope I'm right......

Ya I forgot him. He would be a great hire however he is no where near the high caliber hire of Kendal Briles. Yurich would be my #2 because of freeze's baggage

Hopefully Mickey gets moved to something more suited to his skill level, like hydration coordinator or the back up coach, that’s the guy who constantly tells the players to back up on the sideline. I think he’d excel in either role
He just might excel in that role. He sure doesn't at coaching and developing WR's. In way over his head and must be replaced by an experienced WR Coach that has actually played and coached the position in college and the NFL. Too much talent at that critical position that's going to waste............

Almost no info. Said that an OC has been targeted and no it's not Ensminger. It's a big OC that couldn't be passed on and he was excited when he was told the name. It would be a bigger loss if Canada is kept by missing out on the new target. That's all that was said
