Disclaimer: I don't know this person-just a friend of a friend who works in the UH athletic department, but I found it amusing so take it for what it's worth.

Said Miles did TERRIBLE in his interview at UH which is probably why he was eliminated from consideration so quickly. Again I know it's not much but I thought I'd pass it along. Anyone that surprised? I honestly don't know what to make of that and I'd love to know some specifics of what he said/didn't say.

he has to seek employment to get his buyout. Tank the interviews and hit the beach is what any thinking man would do.

Trace Armstong is getting his name mentioned for damn near very opening. He is letting it be known Les is out looking for a job

Wouldn't Trace Armstrong need for Les to get a new job in order to get paid? I can't imagine he's getting piece of the old money.

Reminds me of Houston Nutt after Ole Miss fired him. Like Nutt, I highly doubt Miles ever coaches at a high level again. The offensive game has passed him by at this point. There are so many cheaper, younger guys out there that schools will go with instead who know these modern offense inside and out.

And people think he's going to be at ESPN. The man genuinely has problems formulating the most basic sentences and it's gotten steadily worse since he got here.

The folks at ESPN will chat with him and soon realize it's not intentional coachspeak, and that he really does struggle these days with making any kind of point (pun not intended).

I think 3 things are at play here:
1) Miles thinks his coachspeak is cute. It isn't. He hasn't given a coherent press conference or interview in over a decade.
2) Miles is/was the most stubborn man in college football. He got fired from a cake job because he refused to change with a game like everyone else did. I have no doubt that he walked into that interview completely unprepared thinking he should get it on his charm and past record alone.
3) as I've been saying for a while, I am not convinced that Miles really wants a job. But I am convinced that he is at least looking for a job to ensure his buyout checks keep rolling in.

It's really not hard to believe. He couldn't finish a coherent sentence in the decade he was at LSU so how could he do well in an interview?
