Well said.

We deserve a top 5 coach.
Why? LSU was in a better place when Saban left than it is now, and it couldn't get a Top 5 coach then, and that was with Skip as AD.

Etling choked or LSU wouldn't have been shut out...plus should have had first down on bama 20 without bs offsetting penalties...and we missed a field goal, and we had a deep pass that was caught a count hair out of bounds. There were chances, but de was far too nervous.

Literally any old jackass could have beaten those teams with LSU's talent and Aranda coaching the defense
While the #2 guy on your list can't beat Navy and SMU even though his team has much more talent than both of them. He is an offensive guru and and had 303 total yards and scored 16 points in the loss to SMU.
Coach O has a TE's coach as OC and in his three SEC wins has done so by a 27 point average.
Let's see, hire a guy who is going to go 3-4 to finish the season in the American conference to inferior teams or a guy who will most likely go 6-1 in the SEC with his only loss being to the best team in the country.
Smart guy you are.

These kids will shite when we get a Dan Mullens type coach. They think the very top guys are lined up. Lol

I agree etling could have been better, but wasn't that Miles' excuse (the qb). Also, who knows what the options were when Saban left. Miles ended up being a descent pick really until the nc game.
Look, let's just all hope the right decision is made and we get behind that man. Best decade of tiger football ahead. Geaux tigers.

Have you not been on this board the past two weeks?
"Any old jackass could have won those games."
"Hire O and we go back to the 90's."
"Torpedo the program"
Lots of people on here are just shitting on the man.

there is the glaring detail that miles wasn't even shut out versus bama.... yes the O line was terrible but come on....
Really? So you believe OL play had nothing to do with how bad LSU was that night? You had no push for the run, Etling was pressured on like 20 of 22 dropbacks or some gaudy number like that. An offense cannot perform if it has no time.
I'm not saying Orgeron is the guy. I'm not saying the Alabama loss was all on him either. If anyone thinks for a second the last 5 games go the same way with Miles as head coach, you haven't been paying attention.
Orgeron did what he could do to salvage the season, and LSU may be in the Sugar Bowl because of it. Did anyone see that after the Auburn game?
He deserves consideration on what he has done at LSU. That isn't the same as saying he deserves the job.
ETA: Btw, did you forget about 21-0? I mean, come on, LSU got shut out on the Biggest Stage under Miles. One of, if not the, single greatest embarassments in LSU sports history took place in the Miles era at the hands of Alabama.

Man you over exaggerate what people say. No need to be confrontational. Never said O line wasn't huge factor. However, isn't O line a huge factor in every game with bama defense? We couldn't have schemed more? Other teams scored. Got etling rolling out? Something? I don't know, I just know the data point that we didn't score, not saying miles would have done better. Glad miles is gone.
Very happy O salvaged the season, and deserves a lot of credit and consideration. I just think there are better candidates, and that's an opinion many of us share that shouldn't be met with such hostility.

We already know he could have done worse. 21-0.

a proven track record. Herman etc are excellent choices to fit the goal. The idea that some of you can't see what Herman has been able to do with no talent or resources is beyond me
Herman's track record is less than two seasons. His biggest accomplishments are two games - one last year and one to start this year. The last six weeks have been horrific for him and his program.
A track record for a coach doesn't end until he is done coaching. Did he look like a great hire at the end of last season? YES. Does he look like a great hire now? HELL NO.

Houston has talent and resources. They have been a successful program since before Art Briles and Kevin Sumlin coached there.
Herman is about to finish 3-4 in his last 7 games in the American conference. The only team he will face in that 7 game span that has more talent than his team is Louisville.

but Herman, would be better
What are you basing this on? Was it the UCONN loss? The SMU loss? The Navy loss? The close wins (way too close) against Tulsa and UCF?
O is 4-1 with his loss coming against the best team in the country. You want to replace him with a guy who lost 38-16 to SMU when he had a much more talented team? A guy who is about to finish the season 3-4 in his last 7 games?

I'm ok with O as long as he goes out and gets a legit offensive coordinator and gives Aranda a nice raise.

That has been the biggest disappointment of O's LSU tenure. I thought for sure he would correct the QB position. I was hoping he would trade Etling, Harris and a couple defensive players to another team for a really good QB.
Really?? coach O can't use QB as an excuse when the QB's were there before he was the coach?
Posted on 11/14/16 at 11:28 am to Tiger Ree
Of course he can't take all the blame, and with time to recruit and develop maybe he does better. Just saying it's the same excuse and a new man.
Posted on 11/14/16 at 11:29 am to Tiger Ree
LSU needs a complete coaching overhaul and O is not it. Aranda is a keeper, but how long will he be here? Miles got some good players and whoever comes next will really need to get all the La. kids to stay here. I think the offense O rolled out against 'Bama was tight and maybe scared. That will not do at all. The offense, as everyone has pointed out, has been a dead zone for the better part of a decade and that must change.

And? Orgeron didn't recruit the QBs, and could not be expected to overhaul the team in half a season.
You know what the funny thing is about all of this? The people that make the arguments of "I thought he would overhaul the offense" or "I thought QB play would get better" expected unrealistic results, and were the anti-Coach O crowd from the start.
Realistically, all he could do was give LSU a better chance to win, and that meant coaching to his players' strengths, and improving the playcalling. Anything else was an unrealistic expectation set forth by an unrealistic segment of the fanbase.
