He was terrible. 136-211 record. Amazing he stayed employed.

This is a truly sad day for the coaching world. Most experts seemed to agree that he was primed for one last big gig - a SCAR, a Mizzou, a UVA, or even an LSU had Miles been canned. Sad day.

He's not the best coach, but he's for sure not the worst. I can assure you not many coaches could take the jobs he did when he took them and do that much better.

Rice in the early 80s SWC?
Vandy in the late 80s SEC?
UAB from scratch? He actually had a few good years at UAB.
Austin Peay has been awful their entire history.
Cincy was a lackluster independent.

His biggest mistake was not just taking a major program OC job and show what he could do.

Like him or not, he damn sure had no problem taking a shite job no one else wanted.

He is literally the worst coach in D1 history.

I call him the worst because somehow he managed to keep convincing teams to hire him. Only 3 winning seasons in 16 years as a D1A coach. Only two postseason appearances in 31 years!

He was the architect of the worst SEC team ever - the 1990 Vanderbilt Commodores, who got BLOWN OUT by an SMU team fresh off the death penalty with mostly walkons who looked like me.

I think that Vandy team started NINE true freshmen on defense and had a QB who didn't start in high school. They were bad. So, so bad.

Don't the rules say that curses should not be in thread titles?
