Dooley
Would be meltdown city if this hire is made. This will imo be the last straw for the remaining few Dooley supporters.

He may lack the star power but Sunseri is a legit coach and good recruiter.

He has never even been a D1 D-Coordinator. Obviously he is a good LB Coach and Recruiter, too bad that is not what we're looking at him as.

He would most likely be Bama's DC if Smart left. If he is good enough to coach that defense I think he is qualified to coach UT's. I know he would have Saban looking over his shoulder and all but just saying.

It won't matter. Sunseri and Dooley will both be back on Saban's staff within the next nine months.

UT's boosters are going to have to pony up and go get a Carroll or Gruden level hire. I know UT has the pockets and that's the level hire it's going to take to jump start the program.

Bill Belichick, IMO

Vol fans need to quit going back to the same old names, Chavis, Steele. I'd take Sunseri in a minute! The guy was a great player at Pitt. He played under coach Foge Fazio( that guy could really coach defense) He's coached for what about 10 year in the NFL. he's coaching under Saban. So, yes I'd take him over Kevin Steele. Any day, any time.

I'd def take him over Steele, but I am/was still hoping for a bigger name. Seems like he could be a great coach, but is he great enough to keep Dooley from being fired?
Actually, I don't think there is a coach that keep him from being fired.

I thought you guys hired R Shannon?

At this point, I'm starting to warm up to the idea of just hiring a good recruiter and letting the new head coach hire a real coordinator next season.

Agreed, and I do think they'll be willing to do that this time.

with Stoops, Shannon, and now Sunseri; yall are building a great staff.

I've had my doubts with Shannon considering the hostess gate situation and shite storm Miami situation. I think there was mutual intrest at first but it was too big of a risk.
