Of course OC/DC staying at ND. The DC is about to be the HC and the OC graduated from ND. I would have been shocked if either left.

We know 2 we wanted aren’t coming. 1 is becoming the hc. The other got a raise to stay as oc and is an alum of note dame. They are also in playoff contention. There are lots of good assistants out there.

Good to see a few old fans on here remembering Saban when he took the LSU job and the jet that came back from East Lansing, MI with not one single assistant coach on board. Kelly will do just fine. Chill out you youngsters.

It’s not uncommon for HC to lure a coordinator with the promise that he’ll promote him as HC once he’s done

I’d bet that Kelly promised Freeman that he’d help him become HC of Notre dame after he retired. Thing is, he didn’t retire. He left

So for him to try to lure him to LSU would require another promise.

Notre dame needed to make a call. They couldn’t my wait on Fickell. They need to recruit and see up early signing day

They made the smart choice

It’s literally the same thing that happened to Saban when he came to LSU. Michigan State promoted from within and the rest of the staff stayed with him.

It tells you they don’t like Kelly enough to follow him…Even if it means more money and a chance to move up the coaching ranks quicker by being in the toughest conference.

0 of Nick Saban's assistants followed him to LSU from Michigan St. They were all offered raises as well.

We gonna be alright.

The S&C, Elston, and Freeman is who you want on that staff. We're 0-2. Hopefully Elston comes.

Rees is also a ND alum.

I want to say I saw something saying his dad works at ND as well.
