Expected move, but another job that needs to be filled. I'd guess the budget will be somewhere between $1-1.5 million.

The first two names that have surfaced are Chip Long and Mike Yurcich.

Yurcich

Top name for Texas as well. He’s a really good coordinator. He was one of my top choices if we could add someone to pair with Coley.

Why would Yurchich take a lateral at best move?

UW should be able to find a quality OC. UW is such a great job and awesome part of the country to live.

Isn't he just the passing game coordinator and QB coach? Ryan Day calls the plays and Kevin Wilson is the OC, correct? Wouldn't that make Yurcich 3rd on the totem pole for the Ohio State offense?

Knowing that Bush Hamdan was a D1 OC makes me feel even older.

Can someone explain to me why Texas needs to spend a ton of money on an offensive coordinator to help Tom Herman who is supposed to be a great offensive mind?

Mizzou got lucky to get Drinkwitz! He said he will run the offense. Hired an OC that will have limited or no impact on the offense Drink will run. OC is a good recruiter. Mizzou offense was not good due to lousy OC and lousy head coach that made boneheaded decisions. Drinkwaitz is going to be a lot better than Barry Odom ever was at Mizzou.

Newest name thrown out there is Rhett Lashlee, the OC at SMU. I know nothing about him though.

Lashlee is a Malzahn protogé from all the way back to his time in Arkansas. He was once one of the hottest young OCs in the country when he was at Auburn.

Gus took back the play calling duties a few years back, and Lashlee has bounced around a little after leaving Auburn.

He’s done a great job at SMU, especially this season. After a little downturn in his career he’s starting to become a hot name again.
