Many people get “interest”. Only one gets the job

My goodness what a shite show. Lynn Swann was the worst sideline reporter of all time and is on his way to being equally as bad as an Athletic Director.

His agent definitely should've known there was interest out there for him. It's only Kliff's fault if his agent advised him of this and he didn't decide to wait.

I think if you're USC you tell him you're either in or you're out. They shouldn't have to deal with him interviewing somewhere else right after he got the job.

And if you’re Kliff you tell them they have no leverage at all since all of their asses are on the hot seat.

He doesn’t have to recruit or figure or run the defense.

If you’re a GM who thinks he can draft and Kliff. Says he cool letting the DC do his thing than it could work.

If I were KK I would 100% resign. Even if he doesn’t get either job he’ll have no shortage of options

The big money at USC should chose that strategy. KK would just be propping up a shitty coach and they still won't be good enough to win anything of importance. Let Kliff go fail in the NFL, fire Helton mid-season next year, hire a real coach in 11 months.

Seems like Im in the minority, but I take USC side on this one. You need to force his hand, you are either in or out. Dude just signed on with USC, you cant be waiting on NFL teams and Kingsbury to decide what to do. He either needs to resign or committ to USC.

USC has no leverage to do that, they do so and he walks and if he doesn’t get a NFL HC gig, he’ll have teams lined up to get him as an OC.

Not sure they should just burn their bridge this soon.

It's the off-season.

Why not let him interview and if he doesn't get a job you still have him, but by forcing his hand now.. you lose him regardless.

That's just my feeling.

And as someone else pointed out.. he would have no issue getting a great gig back in college if needed. Someone said LSU was interested in Kliff but he told them he wanted to go out west or pro. Not sure if that is accurate or not.. but he will have options.

USC has no idea how long this will go on. This is on Kingsbury agent. This is recruiting season, they need to know if he is on board. If this was a coach already on staff, I 100% agree with you guys. This guy just was just hired by USC.

You wanna block a lateral move, I get it. Or block a move in conference, sure.

But you don’t block this shite. It makes USC look ridiculous.

And if I’m him, I resign. USC needs him more than he needs USC

Personally I think you shouldn’t be allowed to block anyone from interviewing for a step up. That shite ain’t right
