How, exactly, is Sexton supposed to leverage this into a raise for Jimbo when he just got a raise and extension last year, and has had a down year? FSU isn't likely to play that game this time around, and, at some point, putting your name out there for jobs every year starts to hurt recruiting at your current job.

It may not happen, but I do think there is legitimate interest on the part of A&M and Fisher. I also could see where the FSU folks would feel like a fresh start might be best for everyone. It could be a win-win-win situation.

The only thing that Fisher will get is money to reshape the staff. That's happening now

Be careful what you wish for Aggies, your AD hired Ty Willingham for Washington and set that program back a decade.

Tyrone Willingham was hired in December of 2004.

Scott Woodward was the Washington Athletic Director from 2008-2015.

Indeed, and leave zero doubt about the fate of our lame duck head coach. Trust me we're looking forward to it more than you are

Jimbo is about to have a major staff overhaul, and he wants the FSU checkbook open. This couldn't be any more transparent. I'm guessing this plays out exactly how it did with LSU last year, he will be the top name for three or four days after the season is over and then aTm will move on after Sexton hikes the figure up to Saban levels and FSU has committed to paying assistants 1.5M a year.

This is worst case scenario...if A&M drops their proverbial pocket book and goes gay balls to the wall for Jimbo and he fails...which he will because everything he stands for is the exact opposite of their culture......they will be toast forever.

I’m hoping they land him...because In 2022 we can bury them as they will be forever known as a job that you can’t win a title at.

Simple. Indicate that A&M is very interested and ask FSU how bad they want to keep Fisher. It doesn't matter that he got a raise last year. If A&M is willing to pay him more, then he is eligible for another "raise" this year, regardless of how the season turns out. The question is who wants to give it to him? A&M or FSU?

I don't disagree. But until FSU says "take it or leave it", there is always room for negotiations.

There definitely should be on the part of A&M. For Fisher? Who knows? It's all a matter of what HE considers the best job.

FSU is not Central Michigan, UCF, or even Arkansas. It's a big time program in a power conf. in a state with tons of D-1 talent. If the ultimate goal is to win NC's, then he's shown he can do that at FSU.

If he goes to A&M he remains the HC of a big time program, in a big time conference, with tons of in-state talent. HOWEVER, he also comes with big time expectations hanging over his head that may be MUCH more difficult to reach than at FSU.

Just as I felt last year..and the year before with LSU's interests...for Jimbo Fisher it seems like LSU and A&M are lateral moves UNLESS a bigger salary is the ONLY consideration.

There's not a world that exist where Jimbo would leave FSU for A&m. There's not a single legitimate reason he would leave. Unless he's a cash whore and it's not like FSU can't match.

Well that's settles it, then. FYI - I don't care if we get Jimbo or not. He is the most proven, but also the most expensive.

I personally think there are better returns on investment out there.

Of course there are other reasons than money to leave and no one will likely ever know what they are. Stranger things have happened.

And that's what LSU said last year as a reason why Fisher would come to LSU. Welcome to the Jimmy Sexton treadmill.
