Urban Meyer out as Head Coach of Jaguars

After less than one year in Jacksonville, Urban Meyer is out as the Jaguars’ head coach, sources tell ESPN.

Whoa. And really, what college job is left for him to take if that’s the route he goes? Only feasible option I can see is Day leaving for the Bears and Meyer returning to tOSU. Would they take him back after everything that’s happened? Not a great PR look

As a HC, I'd think so.
Definitely a fall from grace. I would've taken him 10 years ago.

I'm not sure they'd take him, like you said. It's a terrible PR look and he's had other issues, I haven't really followed him much in the pros but the Jags are pretty bad under his coaching and now he's talking stuff to his own player after allegedly kicking him.
I get he was the HC there and they won a natty but it sure seems like he's come off the rails, at least from a HC standpoint.

I'd imagine Fickell would have to tell OSU no about 10 times before they even thought about going to the Urban well again

My thoughts exactly. He can win immediately, but is he worth the 3/4 ton of baggage that comes with him? Funny enough, the guy that posted Fickell would have to turn down OSU 10 times before they’d try and hire Urban made me think how easy it’d be to see Day leave OSU, OSU hire Fickell and Meyer going to Cinci, strange as it sounds. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit and you’d imagine Cinci would pony up more money to join the Big12 sooner in that scenario. AAC’s commissioner said they’re willing to negotiate and have teams pay a higher exit fee to join sooner. shite I love coaching changes. It’s always been one of the coolest things to watch a program’s progression after a hire and think of all the different coaches they pursued and didn’t work out for whatever reason along with watching a coaches progression, like Rich Rodriguez
