McElwain is clearly the bell of the coaching ball this time around.

Why does Richt keep getting mentioned? I know the long ago Nebraska connection but does anyone actually believe he would leave UGA?

Doesn't Tressel have a show cause?

Yep. I think until the end of next season.

Plus, I believe he is the President or some other administorial capacity at Youngstown.

Tressel wouldn't be able to coach the first 5 games, or the bowl game. However, it's being said that if he's hired before this year's bowl game, that would count as the missed bowl game.

Still hearing some buzz that Tressel might be brought in as HC, with Frost as OC and Tressel's eventual replacement. I'm not sure Frost would go for that idea, though.

Are they trying to get that TD Ameritrade money? He has a bonkers story but he's 65 with 3 years as a HC.

I think it ends at the end of the 2016 season. He can still coach, but any school he goes to will have to abide by it too.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I may be...

McElwain also has a $7.5 million buyout clause. Not too many programs will want to deal with that this year.

As for Richt, there are some of the same annual grumblings that he underachieved, lost to GA Tech, etc. Still has family in Nebraska, although I believe he just had his first grandchild, who resides in Athens. He is the type of guy I'd think they want, though. Nebraska boy, high character, runs a clean program, knows what it takes to compete against the SEC.

At this point, I think Frost is their fall-back plan. I think in the end they might have to play that card, though.

He already turned down the lateral move at Nebraska. Of course that wasn't with him being a replacement in the future. Not that there is any truth to any of this.

If I were a betting man I'd put my $ on Frost. I'd prefer Richt or Tressel, though.
