Who will be left blame?
The guy has the most 10 win seasons in LSU history. I think he wants all the credit.

I don't know a whole lot but what I do know is miles is interviewing 3 or so for OC. I hear kragthorpe is leading candidate. Michigan has not contacted miles, if they do I think he may talk to them but I can't really tell if he would reallyleave if offered at this point.
This guy really sucks donkey balls if he hires Kragthorpe...so much talent available and we pull someone off the bench. Wonderful. fricking idiots.

Not interviewing him as HC

Do people realize how different it is being a HC vs an OC?

belowpar,
I know your word is not gospel and won't hold you to it, but you thought last year a change would be made and it wasn't. Do you feel better about it this year than last?

I do. Those numbers were just the first thing to jump out at me.

Weis was a turrible HC but orchistarated a top 10 offense in the NFL this year.

Very good point, and I realize this.

Kragthorpe was OC in 2009 at Louisville in addition to being HC. Here are the results LINK
Rushing Offense 89th
Passing Offense 71st
Total Offense 91st
Scoring Offense 111th
And this from ESPN when he was canned:

Sounds. Like. Crowton.

And this from ESPN when he was canned:

Even more so than that, Kragthorpe never fully utilized the talent on his team. For example, in 2007, instead of using 6-foot-6 receiver Mario Urrutia as a vertical threat as Petrino had, Kragthorpe's offense often called plays for Urrutia to go over the middle or catch screen passes. An unhappy Urrutia wound up leaving after the season as a junior.
Kragthorpe had three different offensive coordinators and four different defensive playcallers during his tenure. His teams often looked disjointed on the field, repeatedly burning timeouts in confusion early in games or lining up in the wrong formations. Kragthorpe's calls on third and fourth downs prompted a lot of head-scratching.
Perhaps the most damning evidence against Kragthorpe is this: He took over offensive coordinator duties this year, and the team averaged 18.5 points per game, worst in the Big East and the fewest by a Louisville team since 1996. Though he came to town with the reputation as a bright offensive mind, his offenses lacked imagination and paled in comparison to his predecessor.

Why cherry pick one season,
when he was also head coach,
a role that he will not be asked to fill here.

Who was a fan of "check-with-me"?
Posi-Miles: "I hated it when Crowton came up with that; Miles would never think of that he has won 10 games to many times."
Surely, Miles realizes that the "check-with-me" didn't work...and would move on from that, right?

Also intriguing is Kragthorpe’s increase of the check-with-me system

Krag
but Crowton is the problem, right?
Look, I greatly appreciate all the work Miles has done here. He has more 10 wins seasons than any other LSU coach.
But, the average LSU fan's fall-guy-du-jour also was the OC for the highest-per-game-scoring offense in the history of LSU.
Sure GC needs to go. He and Miles simply can no longer co-exist. But to think it is all the fault of GC (who, by the way, has been here for all but one of Miles' seasons so he might deserve credit for some of those 10 wins, too) is absolutely laughable.

you know youre "The shite" on this board when you can pop in, drop a bomb that would normally be considered a rumor by anyone else (subject to immediate deletion), and get it stickied!

Running Jimbo Fisher's offense with a QB developed by Fisher.

Miles has four ten win seasons. Two were with Fisher (2005, 2006) and then 2007 (as discussed above); finally 2010 (with an offense ranked in the bottom 1/5 of college football.

Wow, this just made me smile. Mettenberger will have a shot to start next year now. JJ will never learn a new scheme in a few months.

I hope one of the other two is Leach, and Miles just hasn't interviewed him yet..

Posted on 1/5/11 at 1:22 pm to Broham
Could be why Mett not on campus yet? No need to learn GC's offense. One can only hope.

Sell him to me then
Because this is all I know about him:
Total offense
2007: 6th
2008: 25th
2009: 91st
Scoring offense
2007: 18th
2008: 84th
2009: 111th
