He probably should be. He's got a lot in common with the Tier 1 list, such as the fact that none of them are going to be the next coach.
LOL Well I agree with that.

Probably germans but UT has an 8 member search committee
Bismarck, Hindenburg, and Hermann Goering were all less German than this news when you posted it.

Give him a break. At least he didn't start a thread for it. Besides, dbt is good people.

UTx should consider Tubs. He's got enough gas in the tank for one more run.

I like Tubs, but I hope you're joking.
Tubs is basically a Mack Brown clone: an old Southern back-slapping decent CEO coach.

Saban may not have spoken to Texas but we know his agent did at least last at the start of 2013 and probably recently

You left Bill Belichek, Bear Bryant, and Vince Lombardi off your tier 1 list.

I know his name often comes up on a few college lists, more often for possible NFL vacancies, but today someone told me that Jon Gruden's name had been mentioned and added that Gruden said Texas was one of the few colleges he would consider coaching.

I figure if no hire is announced by Sunday, Saban will be the hire on Monday
Still in play IMO

Gruden hasn't coached for 5 seasons now. His last 3 years at TB he was 20-26. I'm not quite sure what to make of him, tbh.

Gruden is the road trip destination. The journey of getting there is so much fun. But once you arrive, it's just like "oh... time to go home". He'd be underwhelming in college.

I have that same sense too. Someone that hyped is almost guaranteed to be a let down.

The longer this goes on the more nervous the Gumps get.

gump here and not nervous one bit...When you have KS in the wings, who would crawl from his house to the Mal Moore complex to accept the job, Bama has this covered
