Im not sure if O'Brien would not leave if the situation is right. I am positive he is committed to Penn St for the most part, but if they call he should at least listen.

I don't claim sources but word on the street is that he's very happy right now and when the sanctioned period expires, Penn State should hopefully become a contender again under his guidance. I personally really like him.

I've read a couple of places that O'Brien is frustrated with his situation at Penn State and is looking to return to the NFL. If I come across those sources again I will post them.

I wouldn't blame him honestly, but I haven't heard that. If so, UT would make a good hire with him. I don't think he's on their radar at all though.

James Franklin has Vandy 15-4 in their last 19 games. That's second only to Alabama among SEC schools. James. Franklin should be offered the Texas job.

Again, wrong skin color.

Has anyone confirmed that he's actually black?

I have a really bad feeling that if he leaves, Penn State will really tank, which is hard to even believe possible. With an endowment of 2 billion, if they wanted to they could hire elite, but what's the point when we have several more years of sanctions?

I was thinking about that earlier today. Do they hire an existing assistant to maintain some continuity to ride out the sanctions or go after an up and coming coach at a mid major and give them a shot to develop a program during that time? Hard to imagine that an established HC would come in under the current circumstances.

What does endowment have to do with it? Harvard has an endowment north of 15 billion. Auburn and Florida State are playing for a title with endowments less than 500 million. It's about athletic revenue, fan base, recruiting region, and program history. All of which Penn State certainly has at its disposal, notwithstanding the current NCAA sanctions.

I've seen you post crap like this twice. State your case and beware that I can do the same for A&M. As a matter of fact, all universities in the South have a racist past. Simply because UT has never had a black coach, you insinuate an association with the KKK. Are you willing to do the same with Alabama?

So go ahead and tell us the story of racism at UT. I'll reciprocate with what I know about Nuremburg on the Brazos.

He's not the only one. All the A&M fans have done it. Everytime a black coach's name is brought up they immediately point that out. I honestly think they just hired Sumlin to be able to call the teasips racist. But I don't know if there is anything to it or not.

He's the hot minority candidate which always gets more praise than they should

He's not getting the texas job period

I find that when the race card is played in 99.99% of the time, it is because that person has nothing else to support his side of the argument or that person is trying to deflect from any shortcomings from his/her self. Being that these remarks are coming mostly from the aggies one could draw a conclusion that Nancy, Harry and Obama are big aggie fans.

I did some more snooping and found out that Saban is still very much in play...sorry Bama fans...don't expect this to go away until someone not named Nick Saban is hired by UT.

Saban and Meyer are still top targets because they are available now. If they have to wait, then the NFL guys plus Malzahn and Fisher become more in play. Keep eye on Jim Harbaugh...
